Superbook.ai (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a personal reading companion that lets you chat with books, explore insights, and personalize your learning experience. We take your privacy seriously and aim to collect only the data we need to run the service and improve it responsibly.

This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, the third-party services involved (including analytics and marketing measurement), and your rights. It is intended to align with how we answer App Store privacy questions and with our in-app disclosures (such as App Tracking Transparency on iOS). This policy is not legal advice.

If anything here conflicts with a specific consent or system prompt on your device (for example, Apple’s tracking permission), the more specific notice or setting applies where the law requires it.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account and contact information

If you sign up with an email address or join TestFlight, we may collect:

  • Your email address

  • Basic TestFlight diagnostic data (for example install status, crashes, device model) as provided by Apple’s beta program

1.2 App usage and product analytics

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we collect usage and diagnostics through our own systems and through product analytics providers (for example PostHog). This may include:

  • Which books or areas of the app you interact with

  • Feature usage, flows, and rough performance signals (for example errors or load failures)

  • Technical identifiers needed for analytics (for example app- or device-level IDs as configured in our analytics stack)

We use this primarily for product improvement, reliability, and understanding aggregate behavior. We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party behavioral ad networks inside the app to show ads to you.

1.3 Marketing measurement (Meta / Facebook SDK)

We use Meta’s technologies (for example the Facebook / Meta SDK for iOS) to measure the effectiveness of our own marketing, such as whether someone who saw an ad later installed or opened the app. This helps us understand campaigns and allocate spend.

Depending on your platform and choices:

  • iOS: We may request permission to track using Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you allowtracking, the SDK may access the advertising identifier (IDFA) and related signals subject to Apple’s rules and Meta’s processing. If you do not allow tracking, we still attempt to measure installs and campaigns using privacy-preserving methods where available (for example Apple’s SKAdNetwork and aggregated techniques described by Apple and Meta).

  • Android / other platforms: Similar advertising or device identifiers may be used as allowed by the platform and your settings.

Meta may process event data in accordance with Meta’s policies. You can read more in Meta’s documentation for developers and for ads measurement. We configure the app to declare certain privacy manifest fields on Apple platforms (including domains used for tracking-related network activity as required by Apple’s format).

We do not sell your personal information to Meta. We use these tools to measure our campaigns and product outcomes, not to sell a list of users.

1.4 Purchases and subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription or other paid offering, payment and subscription status may be processed by Apple (on iOS) and/or by our subscription infrastructure (for example RevenueCat and related storefront APIs). We may receive:

  • Whether you have an active entitlement

  • Transaction identifiers, product identifiers, and coarse purchase metadata needed to unlock features and comply with accounting needs

We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple in the normal App Store flow; Apple processes payments.

1.5 User-created content

We store:

  • Your saved insights and notes

  • Your chat history with book agents (so you can pick up where you left off)

Your content is stored securely and is not shared with other users unless you explicitly choose to share something.

1.6 AI interactions

When you ask questions or chat with a book, your prompts are sent to third-party AI providers (for example OpenAIDeepSeekPerplexity, or similar, as configured in the app).

  • We only work with providers under arrangements consistent with not using your content to train their models, based on their terms and product settings at the time of use (please review each provider’s policy for details).

  • We do not send full book text to AI models in a way that reproduces copyrighted works.

  • We do not store copyrighted book text as a substitute for licensed reading.

1.7 Website data

If you visit superbook.ai, we may collect:

  • Anonymous or aggregated analytics (for example page views, traffic sources)

  • Email if you submit it for early access or contact

2. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide core app features and sync your library and memories

  • Operate authentication and back-end services (for example Supabase or comparable infrastructure)

  • Improve summaries, insights, and chat performance

  • Fix bugs, monitor reliability, and understand product usage (analytics

  • Measure whether our marketing drives installs and engagement (Meta / SKAdNetwork / ATT as described above), without selling personal information

  • Process subscriptions and entitlements

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your information to show you third-party personalized ads inside Superbook. We may still use identifiers and event data for our own advertising measurement on platforms that allow it, as described in Section 1.3.

3. How we protect your data

We use industry-standard security practices to store and transmit data, including:

  • Encrypted communication (HTTPS)

  • Secure cloud infrastructure

  • Limited internal access for essential operations

4. Sharing your information

We share data only as needed to run Superbook, including with:

  • AI providers (to process your prompts)

  • Infrastructure and database providers (for example authentication and storage)

  • Analytics providers (for example PostHog) for usage and diagnostics as described above

  • Meta / Facebook (and related Apple frameworks such as SKAdNetwork where applicable) for campaign and install measurement as described above

  • Subscription / billing tooling (for example RevenueCatApple App Store) for purchases

  • Email or messaging providers if you join a mailing list or we send transactional messages

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers. We do not share your chat content with advertisers for ad targeting.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of your data

  • Delete your account and associated stored content

  • Correct or update your information

  • Opt out of non-essential analytics or marketing email where we offer controls

  • Control tracking on iOS via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt and device settings

6. Children’s privacy

Superbook.ai is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected a child’s information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

7. International users

Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than yours. By using Superbook, you understand that your information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms for international transfers.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app, our providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in this document and, when appropriate, communicated via the website or the app. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when this version was published.

When you submit updates to App Store Connect, ensure your App Privacy labels and disclosures remain consistent with this policy and with what the app actually does.
